With a few players coming back from injuries in the next few weeks, we should really start to see some competition for spots in the playing 17. This can only be good news for the club.

Yeah. It would have been ideal to have played Jake Lillyman against Souths and ease Rusty Packer back from injury with a lower pressure game such as the Raiders this week. Ah well, it's a good thing Matty Elliot is already grey haired.

You are right there. If they don't give you a heart attack, they will send you grey. I'm already starting myself.

First comes the grey hair then the bald head like Bluey.

My father, who was one of the coaches for a Wellington league club – Wainui or somewhere in the Hutt Valley, I forget which – would bring his team to Auckland whenever they made the finals – it must have been the Barter Card Cup – and they'd always be thrashed by Bluey's team.

We were both wrapped when BM got the Warriors job, had high expectations and couldn't believe how quickly it all unraveled and went pear-shaped.

Bluey is a straight meat and two veg coach, plain talking, focuses on the basics, is very instinctive, but doesn't play the sort of Jedi mind tricks that Wayne Bennett has turned into an art form. I credit Bennett with reviving the careers of Timana Tahu, Willie Mason and a few others where lesser coaches wouldn't have bothered or known how.

Anyway, in summer I go for the low maintenance chrome-dome look, Bluey styles, and then I don't have to see my own gray coming through.

I'm looking forward to seeing Steve and Sam Rapira get some decent game time.
I'm a big fan of Sam Rapira. I really hope he can string a few seasons together injury free.

Is there a better prop rotation in the game than S Rapira / Matalino / Packer?

Other contenders:
Dogs - Tolman / Graham / Kasiano
Raiders - Shillington / White / TLL / Tilse
Cowboys - Scott / Tamou / Taumololo

I reckon James Tamou is a big softy.
Here he is taking time out of a busy game to give Konnie Hurrell a nice relaxing shoulder rub.....whether Konnie wants one or not.
What a guy.

He has no luck Steve Rapira. Very sad for him. Never seems to catch a break, except for limbs  that is.
