We didn’t lose our identity though ever lol...... that’s more important:p:D
not sure about that from some of the playing strips you guys turn out in along with yielding to the PC mob and using drummers instead of baton twirlers:p.
Seriously though its good to have the Bunnies back and they probably copped more crap from the superleague war fallout than most others.....except maybe the Crushers and gold coast seagulls.

Gareth Widdop expects St George Illawarra's heart-breaking NRL finals exit to fuel their 2019 campaign but conceded they had to address their concerning trend of post-Origin fadeouts.

After guaranteeing he would remain in Dragons colours for 2019 and not seek an immediate release to return home to England, Widdop has turned his attention to the upcoming NRL season and his battle to recover from a shoulder reconstruction.

The Dragons were bundled out in the second week of the finals at the hands of South Sydney this year after being sunk by two Adam Reynolds field goals in final three minutes of regulation.

And while Paul McGregor's side did surge late to almost win through to the grand final qualifier, in the wash up they were undoubtedly cruelled by their lacklustre form in the final third of the regular season.

From round 17 onwards, they lost six of nine games, slumping from top spot to seventh.

In 2017 (3-6), 2016 (2-7) and 2015 (4-6), they also ended the regular season in similarly poor fashion.

"You look at the top teams, they're the most consistent teams," Widdop said.

"That's what our team is aiming for. It's good we haven't had too much player movement.

"We lost Leeson (Ah Mau) but bring in Korbin (Sims). We've got a great roster here."

Widdop said he hoped the way in which they exited the finals would fuel their desire for next year.

"We got so close that last game there against Souths," he said.

"It was very pleasing last year but still disappointing. We had a really good start to the year and a bit of a drop off before finding some form in the back end of the year.

"Hopefully the boys will have the hunger from knowing what it's like to play finals because a lot of them haven't played finals before."

Widdop underwent surgery after suffering a shoulder dislocation against Parramatta in round 22 before re-aggravating the injury in week one of the finals against Brisbane.

He has not yet returned to contact work but is confident of being ready for round one against North Queensland in Townsville.

"I'm slowly getting back into it so I'm doing all the running and things like that," Widdop said.

"It's just a matter of progression, which is up to the performance staff."

I just keep hoping that the things I wished the team would do last year they might show some consistency in for the 2019 competition.
It remains to be seen how they and other teams line up but without real changes to their play the Dragons will just repeat the last 8yrs.

The St George Illawarra Dragons have today been advised that forward Jack de Belin has been charged with sexual assault following an alleged incident in Wollongong on Sunday, December 9. The club is taking the matter very seriously and have been working with Jack and all relevant authorities, including the police and the NRL Integrity Unit, since this time.

Jack has been provided with welfare support to enable him the time and opportunity to deal with the matter. As this is a police matter to be considered by the court, the club is not in a position to make any further comment at this time.

Anyone know where we can get a cheap good second rower?.

This is a very serious issue and as it is now Subjudice the only comment I am going to make is this.

De Belin should continue to train with the club but stood down from any games so he can concentrate on the court process.

The "Me Too" movement has now developed a militant mentality so any interaction with a woman on a potential relationship be it permanent or casual might end up needing a witnessed and notorized contract to protect both parties from misinterpreted intentions.

He has these women throwing themselves at him - and while it may be wrong - he may take advantage of that.

Probably find its yet another storm in a D cup.

They help to stir the pot tho … ;)
you may have solved the Eels problem there SJ. Too many spoons, too many stirrers in the pot. No wonder they are having trouble getting their team recipe right.:D

I think you might need a new #13 SJ. Unless a miracle happens he could be rather too busy to play NRL in 2019.
Its a shame the Dragons didn't do more to keep Garrick as he would have made a top class wing replacement for Nighty.
Lafai and Aitken need to deliver or Lomax should move to the centres
