Tweed Seagulls launched into 2022 with close to 150 guests in attendance at their season-opening event held at the Seagulls Club yesterday.

Off the back of a top-four finish in the Hostplus Cup last season, confidence is high amongst the men’s side with head coach Ben Woolf looking forward to the year ahead.

Norths Devils have congratulated head coach Rohan Smith on his appointment as coach of Leeds Rhinos in the Super League.

Smith will leave the Devils in the coming days to join Leeds in the United Kingdom and goes with the blessing of a club that he led to a premiership last October.

2022 - Grand Final:

The Redcliffe Dolphins of 2022 want to leave a lasting legacy at the famous Queensland club.

The Dolphins will head into today’s Hostplus Cup grand final against Norths at Moreton Daily Stadium knowing this is the last time they will be the top team in Redcliffe.

With the Dolphins to enter the NRL for the first time next year, this is the last time the Hostplus Cup side will be Redcliffe’s top side.

And they want to go out on a high.

Norths Devils are the 2022 Hostplus Cup champions after claiming this year's title in a defence-heavy clash at Moreton Daily Stadium.

It was a tough contest throughout, with both sides displaying plenty of defensive grit in a game that finished in dramatic fashion, with the Redcliffe Dolphins fighting all the way, with result in doubt to the final siren.

It is the first time a club has gone back-to-back since Wynnum Manly Seagulls achieved the feat in 2011-2012 under Paul Green.

The Devils didn't have an easy season, losing a number of players and their premiership-winning coach Rohan Smith mid-season, but they didn't stop them from pushing for the title.

Duncan Hall Medal winner Jacob Gagan said it was a special feeling to win and that the whole side got behind new co-coaches Ben King and Kev Neighbour to build towards the title.
