That's good because the Panthers have more than enough ex Warriors in there Team.

Penrith believe they have put in place the final piece of their premiership puzzle after signing NSW back-rower Trent Merrin on a big-money deal for the 2016 NRL season.
Merrin on Monday announced he would leave St George Illawarra at the end of 2015 to take up a three-year $2 million deal at Penrith.
He resisted an offer to join Brisbane and reunite with coach Wayne Bennett, who handed him his first-grade debut at the Dragons.
Penrith general manager Phil Gould described Merrin's signature as one of the most important in the club's history.
The Panthers' playing group is considered one of the best young squads in the NRL and Merrin's Origin and premiership-winning experience is seen as a vital cog in their title ambitions.
"We are absolutely delighted to confirm Trent Merrin will be joining the Panthers for the next three seasons," Gould said.

He appears to have gone for $50k more over 3 years - ie $17k pa.

With tax and travel that may soon disappear.

It is a strange move - almost - "I'll teach you B*stards ... " !

Why move to the mountains - all that travel every day. He loves the beach and his gf is a surfer. I could understand NZ ($1m pa) or even Brisbane (although Benny would have offered less than us). But - Penrith ?

It has to be Gus.

Reagan Campbell-Gillard has extended his contract with the club until the end of the 2019 season.

The 21-year-old is a local junior and a graduate of the Panthers’ premiership-winning NYC team in 2013. He represented Fiji at international level last year and made his first-grade debut for Penrith earlier this season. He was subsequently selected to play for the NSW City Origin side.

Penrith could be bolstered by the addition of another international forward with the Panthers in negotiations with Roosters prop Sam Moa for next season. Must be nice to be able to buy buy buy.

That's how they seem to be able to buy buy buy. They offload four to make an offer for one and they have a lot of younger players wanting a shot at the top grade who can fill in injury related holes

Former New Zealand Warriors coach Ivan Cleary has had his contract terminated by the Penrith Panthers.

Panthers Executive General Manager Phil Gould met with Cleary this morning and informed him the club has terminated the final year of his contract, effective immediately.

"Ivan Cleary has done a tremendous job in his four years at the Panthers," Mr Gould said in a Penrith press release.

"He has laid the foundation for the future and we are enormously grateful for his contribution to the club.

"We wish Ivan, his wife Rebecca and his family all the very best for the future."

Cleary, who spent five years as coach of the Warriors and two as a player, had been linked with a return to the New Zealand club but those rumours were shut down by Warriors managing director Jim Doyle.

When a monkey is swinging through the tree tops, you notice he doesn't let go of one branch until he's got a firm grasp of the next.

So it is that that self-obsessed horses rear-end Phil Gould will already have a replacement head coach in mind.

Cleary's last few years were just fine given the amount injuries that struck his team.

One of the signs that he is truly a quality coach is that many top players always follow him to his next gig.

All the best Ivan, you are a true champ.

Dumb decision. Cleary must have had a falling out with Gus, or Cleary was in talks with the Warriors?

Sowie denies he's leaving - I wonder where he's off to ?
Back to the Dragons now Price is carrying water and instructions at the sharks or perhaps the knights?. He has a few good seasons left in him if only he can tackle. Seriously though it looks like he is carrying the can along with Cleary for an injury riddled season.

Jamal Idris off to greener pastures.

Could be a useful addition ... ;)
Released for "personal issues" so if he made a miraculous recovery and signed with another club in a hurry it would seem a bit sus.
He has become a bit of a journeyman player despite his skill at the game and probably feels he needs to get out and have a life as playing footy is all he has done from a young age
