It's a shame we are loosing ET. He has been in great touch for us. i wonder if they would take Todd Lowrie instead.

NZ produce juniors a bit like the Illawarra. Unfortunately they can't hang onto them all ... :)

I just hope our guys hang onto the best. Parra seem to let the best go.

We are a bit lucky in that we have the whole country to choose the cream of the crop talent from. And like you, I want my club to hold onto the best ones.

The Panthers are pleased to announce the re-signing of exciting five-eighth Isaac John on a new two year contract. Since joining Penrith earlier this year Isaac has excelled as a first grader, proving to be very dangerous in attack, even scoring a hat trick of tries against his former club the Warriors.

I suppose Kite's true value with the Panthers will be his leadership and guiding their younger upcoming props, similar to how Petero helped Mckendry and Grant.

Good call. So no Peachy dynasty then. David Peachey was a gun fullback for the Sharks. Tyrone is the nephew.

Good news for the Pennies, but if Wayne Bennett isn't careful to retain some young guns, he's going to win the “Team with the most rickety old Matlocks in the NRL” award. Maybe that's his plan, after all he's won everything else. ;)

I read on Twitter that Gus was playing up Panthers re-signings (this one and possibly Kevin Kingston) during his TigPies commentary!

Geeze. If Gus isn't rarking up Rabs or stinking up the SoO 3 preview, then he's racking on about his team at an unrelated game.

Legendary.

The Panthers are pleased to announce captain Kevin Kingston has re-signed with the club for the 2014 season.

Kevin has skippered the NRL squad since mid-2012, and will continue to lead the club into next year.

“It’s a privilege to be staying on at the Panthers. I love the club and the team, and my family and I didn’t really want to be anywhere else next season. The team is working really well together and is continually improving, and with the direction the club is going, the future is very bright at Penrith”

“I’d like to thank Ivan, Gus and the club for giving me another opportunity to wear the Penrith colours”.

Panthers General Manager Rugby League Phil Moss says “We are really pleased Kevin has agreed to stay on at Penrith. He is a dynamic player and a great leader, on and off the field. The team trusts and respects him, and the younger players really look up to him. I’m confident he will continue to lead us in the right direction next year”.

Clint Newton is searching for a new NRL club after being told by Penrith he won't be awarded a contract at the end of this season.

The 32-year-old former Newcastle star, who played for Melbourne in the 2007 premiership final, is confident of remaining in the NRL having already completed a three-year stint in the English Super League with Hull KR.

"I won't be staying at Penrith - it will be somewhere else," Newton told AAP.

Phil Gould admits Shaun Johnson could become one of the "all-time NRL greats" but says that Penrith have had "no discussions whatsoever" with the Warriors halfback.

Speculation has been rife on both sides of the Tasman over the past fortnight that the Panthers have made Johnson a priority target as they construct a team for the future.

Johnson made his NRL breakthrough under the guidance of Panthers coach Ivan Cleary but Gould, who is Penrith general manager, dismissed the idea of the two men reuniting.
