Panthers recruit Kurt Capewell has picked up a quad strain and won't play in the club's first trial match against Wests Tigers on February 22.

It's hoped the back-rower will be fit to tackle the Eels in Bega the following week. Young gun Charlie Staines has a low-grade hamstring strain and should play in at least one trial.
