North Queensland's injury woes have continued with Jordan Kahu sidelined for an indefinite period after suffering a fractured eye socket against the Roosters.
Kahu will undergo surgery on Wednesday with Cowboys coach Paul Green confident he will be back before season's end.

North Queensland winger Kyle Feldt is in doubt for Thursday night's clash against the Wests Tigers after suffering a concussion last week.

Feldt left the field late in the first half in the loss to the Sharks after picking up a knock and didn't return.

The 27-year-old has been named on the wing by Paul Green but will need to pass appropriate concussion testing by Wednesday in a bid to play with Gideon Gela-Mosby on standby.

The news is better for Michael Morgan, with the Queensland utility set for a return after missing three games following back-to-back head knocks.
Morgan has undergone a series of tests and specialist appointments after he was knocked out in the Origin decider.

Cowboys forward Josh McGuire is facing a suspension over an incident involving Broncos opponent David Fifita during Thursday night's clash in Townsville.

McGuire placed his left hand on Fifita's face after the Brisbane forward was tackled during the first half of the Broncos' narrow win.

He is facing a ban of 3-4 weeks after being charged with grade-two contrary conduct.

The Queensland representative has been fined twice already this season for similar incidents.

North Queensland have bolstered their hooker stocks with the signing of young Dragons rake Reece Robson while a familiar surname has returned to Canterbury with Dean Britt inking a deal with the Bulldogs.

Robson has agreed to a four-year deal with the Cowboys. The 21-year-old Junior Kangaroos representative has played eight NRL games since making his debut for St George Illawarra in round nine last season.

He is facing a ban of 3-4 weeks after being charged with grade-two contrary conduct.

The Queensland representative has been fined twice already this season for similar incidents.
Meanwhile, Cowboys enforcer Josh McGuire will accept a three-game suspension rather than seek a downgrade of his third contrary conduct charge this season for "facial" incidents.

McGuire and the club entered an early guilty plea to his grade two charge for unnecessarily placing his hand on David Fifita’s face in Brisbane's narrow win over North Queensland.

A successful challenge of the charge’s grading could have seen McGuire banned for just one week and was considered by the club.

Instead, the Test and Origin lock will next be available for the Cowboys' final-round trip to Melbourne.

Cowboys coach Paul Green said winger Jordan Kahu was in doubt for their game against Penrith next Friday after suffering another eye socket injury in the first half of their 42-6 loss to the Knights in Newcastle on Saturday. Green said Kahu sustained the injury just before half-time but insisted on finishing the game.

Matt Scott suffered a mild stroke on Sunday. Doctors are confident the stroke was unrelated to football and he is expected to make a full recovery.

Dreadful thing. I read once a test for stroke ( a form of dementia - as is Alzheimers).

In the morning - before your shower - stand on your left leg for 30 seconds. If you can do this you have less chance of stroke. I have no idea if this is true - but I like the idea.
