The North Queensland Toyota Cowboys will formally apply to enter the NRLW in 2023 following today’s announcement by the NRL not to expand the competition for the 2022 season.

North Queensland approached the NRL in December to register interest in entering a team in the NRLW for 2022.

The club believed it was ready to field a side in the premier women’s rugby league competition in the country following the success of the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys Gold Stars and the continued growth of the Cowboys Women’s Academy.

:)ic Coaching Decision of the Week: There were plenty of contenders on opening weekend but it is hard to go past Todd Payten. In a game the Cowboys should have won against a poorly coached outfit, Payten put together a game plan that 10yo with Mongolian boy who had never seen a game would have shunned. Jason Taumalolo again played limited minutes as nothing more than the most expensive battering ram in the NRL. Last tackle options were horrific. With the game on the line and only seconds remaining, the Cowboys took two forward hitups. A truly horrific coaching showing.

Week 6 - 2022

18 - 12 Canberra

Not sure how but the Cows won.
The Raiders found another way to snatch a loss from the jaws of victory.
They just ran out of gas and the Cows came home with a rush in the second half.

An epic defensive display and a hat-trick to Kyle Feldt have steered the Cowboys to a slashing 35-4 win over the Eels in Darwin on Saturday night.

With Reuben Cotter and Reece Robson tackling themselves to a standstill and Feldt snaring the fourth hat-trick of his career the Cowboys ensured Chad Townsend would celebrate his 200th NRL game in style.

Round 11 - 2022

36 - 6 Melbourne

A very good win. Amazing how Melbourne struggle without their spine.
