IT will be a case of jinx versus jinx when Major League Baseball’s World Series kicks off on Tuesday (Wednesday AEDT) in Los Angeles.
The Houston Astros reached Major League Baseball’s World Series for the first time since 2005 after they beat the New York Yankees 4-0 in game seven of their American League Championship Series.
The Astros, who rallied from a 3-2 series deficit, will face the Los Angeles Dodgers.
It means two teams who won over 100 games in the regular season will look to overcome the infamous Sports Illustrated magazine ‘cover curse’.
Houston was proclaimed as ‘Your 2017 World Series Champs’ in an article written more than three years ago as they went through their Philadelphia 76ers-style ‘trust the process’ rebuild.
Los Angeles made the front cover in August with the headline “Best. Team. Ever?”, but will need to overcome their history of making the playoffs and failing on the big stage.

Well - one all after 2 of the 7 games.
LA Dodgers won the first relatively easily, and Houston Astros the second.
Second one was a thriller going to the 12th.
As its a best of 7 we may see all 7 games played. BUT - it is a huge win for Houston to pick up a win away - in LA.
