Melbourne star Gareth Widdop faces a lengthy stint on the sidelines after suffering a dislocated hip in Monday's NRL loss to Gold Coast. The England international cried out in agony and punched the Skilled Park turf after suffering the injury in the second half of his team's 18-12 loss to the Titans.
Widdop was tackled by Titans duo Ryan James and Albert Kelly and instantly clutched at his leg after his knee appeared to catch in the turf as he went to ground.
The 24-year-old was stretchered off the field and taken by ambulance to the nearby Robina Hospital.
It's not clear at this stage how long Widdop will be out for with Storm coach Craig Bellamy saying a lot will depend on whether it was solely a dislocation or if any fractures had also occurred.
