Widnes Vikings have been fined £20,000 by the Rugby Football League after fans ran onto the pitch following August's Challenge Cup.
The Vikings lost the match 28-6 at Leigh Sports Village on 10 August.
Police and stewards had to intervene to restrain spectators from the Widnes section.
The club has been instructed to pay £10,000 immediately, with an additional £10,000 suspended for 12 months.
Widnes, who the RFL acknowledged for their full cooperation with the investigation, must also pay £4,000 costs.
I don't know what this is about. Just the other day I was watching the season review video (presumably recorded not that long ago), and in interviews Shaun Wane was quite fulsome in his praise for EP, and he's not one for talking up individuals.
Honestly he won't be a massive loss. He wasn't all that for us last year, and was injured quite a bit too. We've strengthened our pack by buying Larne Patrick who is a quality player. He was Danny Brough's right-hand man (or, rather, left-hand man) at Huddersfield in the same way as Gavin Cooper is to JT at the Cowboys. Or so I've always thought.
Funnily enough, polish and finesse aren't the first thing that spring to mind when I think of the Roosters...
Wigan are already subject to much banter from other fans about not being able (or prepared) to keep their young talent. Then again, I argue it's a numbers game. Wigan lose more young talent to other clubs because they *have* more young talent than other clubs. And we have another good lad to replace him in Dom Manfredi, who played a fair bit in the first team last year.
Charnley hasn't been missed as Dom Manfredi has slotted into his place perfectly.
Well I was one of the 24000 crammed into the DW for the highly-awaited Good Friday derby, and Wigan, who have't lost a GF derby since 2009, ran out the winners in a low-scoring game of high intensity.
Our defence was excellent, discipline, which looked like it could become a big issue for us, was pretty good. Only our attack is still failing to fire on all cylinders. And yet, for all the criticism of our attack this year, I just watched the March try of the month, some brilliant scores there.
