Wakefield Trinity centre Joe Arundel will miss the remainder of the Super League season after rupturing an anterior cruciate ligament in Friday's defeat by his former club Castleford.

Trinity will also be without utility back Ryan Hampshire for six weeks after he fractured his jaw in the same game.

Hampshire, unlike Arundel with his knee injury, will avoid surgery.

Wakefield Trinity have re-signed winger Liam Kay from Toronto Wolfpack.

Kay has joined Trinity on loan for the rest of the 2020 campaign and has agreed a contract with them for the 2021 and 2022 seasons.

The 28-year-old began his Super League career with Wakefield, but has helped Toronto from the third tier to the top flight during his three-and-a-half years with the Canadian club.

Wakefield Trinity have signed former Catalans Dragons back Tony Gigot on a deal until the end of the 2021 season.

The France international left Catalans at the end of 2019 and had a brief spell with Toronto Wolfpack.

During his time at Catalans, Gigot became the first Frenchman to win the Lance Todd Trophy as they lifted the 2018 Challenge Cup.

Wakefield Trinity have signed Huddersfield Giants outside-back Innes Senior on a one-month loan deal.

The 20-year-old will provide cover for injured duo Tom Johnstone and Lee Kershaw, plus the suspended Reece Lyne.

He could make his debut in the Challenge Cup quarter-final with Catalans on Saturday.

I like these loan deals - good for the game and players.
