Salford owner Marwan Koukash has revealed rent charges and falling attendances are costing the club money for every home game.

Speaking before Sunday's win against Wakefield, Koukash said he could lose between £15,000 and £20,000 if the crowd was below 3,000 - and the attendance for the match was 2,712.

How long will he stick it out? The club is a basket case. I've never been there, but apparently public transport links and parking at the stadium (which they unwillingly share with Sale Sharks) is terrible. And even at their old ground, attendances were poor.

Some people here are saying he might have done better putting his money into Bradford. They probably have a point.

England playmaker Rangi Chase has had his contract terminated by Super League side Salford Red Devils following a 'disciplinary procedure'.

Chase, who was mid-way through a four-year deal at the end of this season, was revealed as a 2016 signing by Leigh on BBC Radio Manchester, although the deal has not been formalised to date.

The 29-year-old had already been granted a free transfer by Salford.

He was suspended internally by the club in September pending the hearing.
