The 28-year-old has scored 37 tries in 111 appearances for the Airlie Birds since moving from National Rugby League side Newcastle Knights in 2016.

Betfred Super League
Warrington (8) 14
Tries: Ashton 2, Gelling Goals: Ratchford
Hull FC (13) 27
Tries: Faraimo, Cator, Satae, Connor Goals: Sneyd 5 Drop-goal: Sneyd

Hull FC moved within 80 minutes of a 'home' Grand Final at the KCOM Stadium by dumping Warrington out of the Super League play-offs at the first phase.

Marc Sneyd's two conversions and drop-goal gave Hull the edge at the break as Stefan Ratchford failed to convert two.

Chris Satae added to Bureta Faraimo and Joe Cator's first-half scores before Matty Ashton scored his second, with Anthony Gelling having earlier crossed.

Sneyd kicked a penalty goal and Jake Connor's late try settled the result.

League Leader's Shield winners Wigan will host Hull at the DW Stadium next Thursday.

Hull FC have signed experienced Australian half-back Josh Reynolds from NRL side Wests Tigers for next season.

The 31-year-old, who scored 44 tries in the Australian league, moves to KCOM Stadium on a two-year deal with the option of a third year.

Reynolds represented New South Wales in the State of Origin series in 2014 and has played 160 NRL games in his career.

He'll do well in the old dart.

It has not taken long for Josh Reynolds, Hull FC's new big-name half-back, to settle in at his new club.

The Australian, a New South Wales State of Origin winner and a two-time National Rugby League Grand Finalist, is known as 'Grub' for his nuggety, vocal demeanour on the field.

Already his new team-mates have started to pick that up, as he builds up for a first taste of Super League.

Former England hooker Shaun Lunt has announced his retirement from rugby league after a 16-year playing career in the sport.

The 33-year-old began his career at Castleford in 2005 before spells with Workington and Huddersfield Giants.

He reached the 2009 Challenge Cup final with the Giants and won his only England cap the following year.

In 2012 he went on loan to Leeds Rhinos and helped them beat Warrington in that year's Super League Grand Final.

He then went on to join Hull KR, spending four seasons with the club and captaining the side before short stints with Batley and Barrow Raiders in 2020.

Lunt never played for the Raiders, however, after the 2020 League One campaign was impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.

I am very much looking forward to this match between Wigan and Hull FC, coming from the DW Stadium. Both teams are undefeated, so the 59th league meeting between these two rugby league heavyweights should be a cracking affair indeed.

I didn't know that Brett Hodgson is the Hull FC coach. Some of these jobs (for the boys) are part of a certain a merry-go-round! He looks to be quite impressive to be fair though.

Hull FC reached the Challenge Cup semi-finals with a 20-10 win over Wigan.
Fair play to Hull FC. I sat up to watch it, even though I nodded off a couple of times! Josh Reynolds played quite well. They learned from their loss against us last week. The Super League will have to be our focus now.

Betfred Super League
Castleford (6) 12
Tries: Qareqare, Holmes Goals: Richardson 2
Hull FC (12) 30
Tries: Swift 2, Fonua 2, Connor Goals: Sneyd 4, Connor

Hull FC shook off the disappointment of missing out on a Wembley Challenge Cup final appearance with Super League victory over an under-par Castleford.

The visitors recovered from a first-minute score from Tigers debutant Jason Qareqare to lead at the break with Adam Swift and Mahe Fonua tries.

The same duo scored in the second half, as the left edge proved dominant.

Jake Connor's try made sure, even with Hull down to 12, while Oli Holmes grabbed a consolation for the Tigers.

Alex Foster's injury was a further blow for Cas, who have yet to win at home.

Betfred Super League
Leigh (6) 22
Tries: Bell, Reynolds, Brierley 2 Goals: Brierley 3
Hull FC (34) 64
Tries: Connor, Swift 2, Ma'u, Faraimo, Fonua, Savelio 3, Wynne, Brown, Satae Goals: Sneyd 8

Hull FC extended bottom side Leigh's winless Super League run to 11 games with a 12-try drubbing to move back up to fifth in the table.

The visitors were ruthless, scoring seven first-half tries including Adam Swift's double to break Leigh, whose early score came from James Bell.

The hosts did rally with four-pointers for Ben Reynolds and Ryan Brierley.

But it was in vain as Andre Savelio claimed a hat-trick and Jack Brown and Chris Satae went in for a dominant win.
