A few guys in my local pub bet on Cats at the semi-final stage, they got very generous odds at 14-1 in a four-horse race, but of course, they weren't expected to beat Sainis in the semis, but when the did...

Obviously the crowd was going to be smaller with a French side in the Final, but the Cats won't care about that. And well done to ex-Wiganers McIlorum and Tierney, who were both very good for them.
Be good for the game though - like here when NZW made the GF.

Holders Catalans Dragons may miss out on playing in the Challenge Cup due to a dispute with the Rugby Football League (RFL) over a proposed $900,000 AUD deposit to enter the 2019 competition.

Their victory in 2018 came at a cost for the RFL as the final failed to bring in revenues of previous seasons. As a result, the RFL has asked Catalans to provide a cash bond to ensure projected figures would be met this year. Reports have suggested the Toronto Wolfpack and Toulouse have already declined to pay such a fee, and the Dragons could follow suit after asking the governing body to reconsider their request.

Interesting times ahead.

Which, of course, is absolutely disgraceful. Other SL clubs should threaten to boycott the Cup and force the fools at the RFL to back down.

True - but they need to make money too. We need to grow the game - but we also need to survive.

It's the fault of the RFA that Wembley isn't full for the CC Final; it's up to them to promote it, not criticise the Dragons for being in France. It It It used to be full whoever was in the Final, with supporters from every club in the country attending, amateur and pro. Not any more. But beyond even that, the very idea of charging the Dragons just looks so retrograde for the game. What kind of message does that send about 'growing our sport'?

Coral Challenge Cup: Millom v Red Star Belgrade
Venue:
Coronation Field, Millom Date: Sunday, 27 January Kick-off: 13:30 BST
Coverage: Streamed live on the BBC Sport website, connected TVs and BBC Sport app.

Nearly three decades ago their footballers were conquering Europe. Now Red Star Belgrade are aiming to make their mark in rugby league's most famous knock-out trophy.

The Serbian sporting club will play in the Challenge Cup for the first time on Sunday. For most British sports fans, Red Star's name entered the annals of history when they won the European Cup - now the Champions League - beating Marseille on penalties in Bari's Stadio San Nicola in 1991. But Red Star is one of the world's biggest sporting clubs, which has been involved in 27 different sports since it formed in 1945.
