Sharks senior players Chad Townsend and Aaron Woods have little sympathy for players refusing to have the anti-flu shots.

Townsend said he backed the calls stipulating players had to stand down from training or playing - only for games in Queensland, at present - if they did not have the vaccination.

"Potentially in normal circumstances like last year we were talking about this and could have debated it all day. But the fact is that in 2020 it is a different climate," the halfback said.
Townsend has nailed it.

SHARKS FIRM AS LANDING SPOT FOR TIGERS LEGEND

Unwanted Tigers legend Benji Marshall is closing in on a deal with the Sharks to continue his rugby league career at Cronulla.

The Sydney Morning Herald reported the Sharks now loom as the most likely destination for Marshall who is bidding to play on in 2021 after being shown the door by the Tigers.

The 35-year old reportedly has a good relationship with Cronulla football manager Darren Mooney, with the pair having worked together at the Tigers.

Marshall is still weighing up retirement, but could provide much needed experience to John Morris’ side if the price is right for both parties.

The Sharks could use Marshall’s experience to help them in the absence of star playmaker Shaun Johnson, who will miss a large chunk of next season with an Achilles injury.
