Djokovic's lawyers request timeline for proceedings

Mr Wood says he understands that the Government is not proposing to re-detain Novak tonight.

He says the interview between Novak and Govt is to take place at 8am tomorrow.

He says they are seeking an order that would facilitate Novak and his lawyers being able to get together to prepare for a future hearing.

“If your honour might make an order or perhaps the minister might make an undertaking … that my client might be permitted to be located with his legal team [tomorrow]” and that Novak can stay at his present residential address tonight and Saturday night."

Mr Wood proposes a timetable for proceedings:

“Where this is leading your honour in terms of timetabling … is that we expect that we [would be able to file an originating application tonight … and final submissions by midday tomorrow]”

“We would expect the minister to file submission, we suggest, by 10pm tomorrow," and a hearing to happen on Sunday.

Reasons have changed says Djokovic's lawyer

Djokovic's lawyer says the reasons have changed regarding the case.
He says: “We expect that the nature of the legal grounds that we are presently formulating will be simpler and fewer than [those of the first decision]”
Mr Wood says he’s confident it’s a matter that can be prepared for quickly, and heard and determined quickly.
He flags that the grounds of appeal will be based on the Minister’s reasons for cancelling Djokovic’s visa – which he says are in “stark contrast” to the reasons given to Djokovic at the airport.
He said: "Let me put it this way, the reasons for the minister stand in stark contract - in substance, the delegate at airport was saying he may infect other people. The present set of reasons are starkly different."
He also says the Minister, in his reasons for the decision, has only considered how allowing Djokovic to stay would “excite anti-vaxer sentiment”.
But his reasons haven’t considered what a decision to deport him might do for excitement in the anti-vax community.

Novak Djokovic’s lawyers have outlined the basis of their appeal

They say that the Immigration Minister agrees that Novak Djokovic poses a negligible risk to the public, has a medical reason why he can’t get vaccinated, is a person of good standing and has followed other requirements.

His lawyer Nick Wood says the reason for Djokovic’s visa cancellation is that his presence in Melbourne would "excite" the anti-vaxxer community.

Mr Wood says the minister’s decision does not take into account what kicking out a high-profile person, who is low risk to the public and has a medical exemption would do the same group.

the man has LIED on his visa application
the man travelled to Spain while infected and didnt mention it .
Even media producing a time line of his visa application until arriving in Australia failed to show it.
the man is self indulgent and arrogant.

Mr Wood his lawyer is trying to divert attention with his "low risk" comments . Djoko is in trouble because he LIED.

needless to say his appeal will go back to the SAME Judge who made pro Djoko comments during his first appeal.
