Canberra Raiders outside back Sisa Waqa has been granted a release from the NRL club to join French rugby outfit FC Grenoble at the end of June.
Waqa, off contract with Canberra after this year, was linked to a French rugby move midway through last season after his manager sought a release.
The Raiders said Waqa would remain part of the club's NRL squad until his release and would continue to train and play.

Yeah, I know. It's been bubbling under for a long while. I can't see it myself, it's only this season he has kicked on a bit from being just a promising youngster. And he not that big, certainly compared to the likes of Shannon Boyd. I suppose the Raiders can afford to take a punt.

The Canberra Raiders have signed New Zealand Warriors back Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad, with the 23-year-old set to join the club effective immediately.
Michael Ennis has officially joined the Canberra Raiders for the 2019 season as a coaching consultant.
