NRL CEO Todd Greenberg has warned the two Canterbury players who have been stood down are facing significant sanctions if they have found to have taken part in the “completely unacceptable” conduct allegations levelled at them.

Second-rower Corey Harawira-Naera and winger Jayden Okunbor have been stood down following allegations of misconduct involving local female high school students during a pre-season trip to Port Macquarie.

Winger Christian Crichton could face a judiciary-imposed isolation next weekend himself after landing on report for an ugly shoulder to the head of Maika Sivo.

Bulldogs fullback Dallin Watene-Zelezniak was one of three people charged by the match review committee following Thursday night's start to the season.

Canterbury winger Christian Crichton (high tackle - careless) and Eels star Blake Ferguson (tripping) were also charged but their offences only attracted fines.

Watene-Zelezniak can avoid suspension with an early guilty plea after being handed a grade one dangerous contact charge for an incident involving Eels hooker Reed Mahoney in the 25th minute.

If Watene-Zelezniak challenges the charges and loses, he will miss Canterbury's round two clash with North Queensland.

Unfortunately Kerrod Holland didn’t take to the field last Thursday night and has picked up a minor knee complaint in training since the fixture and will miss this week’s match against the North Queensland Cowboys.

Joe Stimson unfortunately suffered a tear to the front of his shoulder joint during the club’s round two clash with the North Queensland Cowboys and requires surgery to repair the damage.

Surgery has been put on hold due to the Coronavirus and a return to play date is TBC.

Surprised it’s been so quiet re this and we did not know anything in their last game. Everyone thought he’d just been hooked.

Bulldogs star Joe Stimson is set to miss 5-6 months as he undergoing shoulder surgery on Tuesday, the club announced.

With the NRL season likely to run until the first week of October, it likely rules Stimson out for the rest of the season.

Bulldogs back Marcelo Montoya will be out of action for between eight and 12 weeks after tearing his hamstring.

The 24-year-old suffered the grade two tear at training last week.
