Brisbane halfback Brodie Croft may miss just one match after further evaluation of his shoulder injury.

After Saturday scans cleared Croft of suffering bone damage suffered in the first half against South Sydney on Friday, the latest update is more good news for a Brisbane team that started the year with two wins.

A follow up assessment will be made on Monday, but what has been diagnosed as an AC joint injury is expected to keep him out for one or two weeks at most.

Winger Corey Oates will also be monitored after suffering rib damage late in the game as well.

Brisbane have received good news amid rugby league's toughest period in decades with injured prop Matt Lodge set to avoid surgery on a partial ACL tear.

The suspension of the NRL season has struck a blow to majority of people in the game but players like Lodge, who suffered the setback in the pre-season trials, is now on track for a return later in the year.
