DARIUS Boyd has been given the all clear to start his recovery after successful ankle surgery today.
Boyd had a percutaneous achilles repair on the tendon he ruptured completing a routine shuttle runs drill at training last Friday morning.
The surgery was completed by Doctor Terry Saxby this morning with the procedure occurring without any complications.
The 27-year-old Boyd will now begin a recovery that generally lasts from between six to nine months.
If all goes to plan, the international back could well be returning to the playing field as early as May next year.
Good to hear. Sounds early though. Not the sort of injury you should rush.
