I think the expensive "supercars" would continue to come because there are not that many opportunities to show off what those "showroom" cars can really do or not do.
The track itself lends itself as an attraction.
GT3 might be popular in Europe but as they all look the same it appeals more to europe
still any event that brings in patrons and cash for Bathurst is a bonus expecialy if it can be shown on TV.
I used to like the Bathurst Easter races especially if I got a zoom around the track in a marshalls car between races.
Perhaps bring back some bike races as well.
Bathurst still hosts easter races, the 6 hr production car race is run at easter along with other categories.

From the 24 regular entries, just four pairings are the same as last year – both Triple Eight Holdens (Jamie Whincup/Craig Lowndes and Shane van Gisbergen/Garth Tander), The #15 Kelly Mustang (Rick Kelly/Dale Wood) and the #12 Penske Ford (Fabian Coulthard/Tony D'Alberto).

There are some reunions in the field, though, such as Macauley Jones and Tim Blanchard (10th in 2016) and Lee Holdsworth and Michael Caruso (DNF in 2008, third in 2009).

Missing from the field is reigning winner Alex Premat, who was set to join Tickford Racing for the Great Race after being replaced by Tim Slade at DJR Team Penske, only for pandemic-related travel restrictions to leave him stranded in the US.

Bathurst will begin 30 minutes earlier than originally slated this Sunday in a decision made by Supercars amid concerns over the weather at Mount Panorama.

The race was originally supposed to begin at 11.30am but will now begin at 11am with the current weather forecast predicting rain and scattered thunderstorms during the time cars are expected to be out on track.

The reason for this is that Supercars fear that weather-enforced stoppages could result in their flagship race being red-flagged.

Seven cars with strong pairings I think.

I always love Bathurst - grew up on it I guess.

Brockie and Moffatt. Lowndes. Dick J.
Brockie and Dick!

More than a year ago I went to Surfers for the V8's and few friends said "we should get a unit" the kids and then can down trackside and in the unit. Covid 19..lol!

Its amazing - one car can lead almost all day - then some minor thing - the safety car / rain / etc - can ruin it for them.

Yeah, just when I made my last post I went back to the telly, it had started raining and the Giz went through to the lead.
