Aron Baynes has written his own piece of NBA history, scoring 37 points — the most points ever by an Australian in a single NBA game — as his Phoenix Suns beat the Portland Trail Blazers.

Baynes, starting in place of centre Deandre Ayton, made a career-high nine 3-pointers — five in the first quarter alone — and added 16 rebounds and two blocks to his scoring onslaught.

The World’s largest International women’s basketball competition is coming to Sydney Olympic Park.

Overnight FIBA has announced that Basketball Australia and the New South Wales Government has won the bid to host the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup at Sydney Olympic Park over ten days in September and October of 2022.
