Ash Barty

The Aussie has the chance to beat the three women who knocked her out of Grand Slams last year on route to the final.

But she has to get there first, and it’s not the easiest draw a No.1 seed has ever gotten. The big plus is a few big chances to get revenge.

Barty opens against Ukrainian Lesia Tsurenko, who beat her at the Brisbane International two years ago, and then could face dangerous unseeded floater Rebecca Peterson in the second round.

It gets really interesting from there, with No.18 Alison Riske potentially awaiting in the fourth round. That’s the round Barty lost in at Wimbledon - to Riske.

Then comes a potential quarter-finals rematch from last year’s Australian Open against No.7 Petra Kvitova.
