    The All Blacks were the most mentioned Kiwi sports team on Twitter for 2018.


    The New Zealand Warriors have almost edged the All Blacks as the most mentioned Kiwi sports team on Twitter for 2018.

    Renowned for their unpredictability on the field in the National Rugby League (NRL), the Warriors have again proved their popularity among New Zealand sports fans.

    The Warriors were the second most mentioned New Zealand sports team on Twitter for 2018, only narrowly being edged by the All Blacks.

    Coming in after the All Blacks and Warriors were the Black Caps, Black Ferns women's rugby team and the Wellington Phoenix football side.

    The New Zealand Warriors almost edged the All Blacks as the most mentioned Kiwi sports team on Twitter for 2018.


    The All Blacks attracted 30 per cent of mentions among the top five with the Warriors gaining 29 per cent.

    The Black Caps came in at 18 per cent with the Black Ferns securing 12 per cent of the share and the Phoenix 11 per cent.

    As for the most mentioned sports hashtags in New Zealand for 2018, #WorldCup came in first with Kiwi sports followers captivated by the 2018 Fifa World Cup in Russia.

    Rugby league again ruled online with #NRL second, #Rugby third, #golf fourth and #PyeongChang2018 fifth for the Winter Olympics, where New Zealand captured two bronze medals.
