Exactly right.
If we go well in the forwards then that will make things easier for Walker and Reynolds which will then make things easier for our backs. I reckon we are fine in our backs. AJ, Graham, Roberts, Gagai can be great finishers. Doueihi is doing pretty good at fullback. Burns, Allan, Goodwin as backup backs is pretty good. Having a strong forward pack is so important. It is where our spending money should be focused for 2020.

I’m hoping Sironen can do a similar role that Turner did for us when he gets his shot off the bench.

It will be interesting to see how Wayne uses Sironen and if he sees him as our third choice second rower or does he see Knight/Murray as better second row options to Sironen.

Su’a and Lowe will get first starting chance for our second row I would say. If Arrow comes Murray/Knight could depend some time at second row to give Lowe or Su’a a spell.

If Arrow comes for 2020 callmack1 callmack1 RADICAL RABBIT RADICAL RABBIT @southsport @Souths till I die doyen doyen I’m thinking this:

Arrow
Cook
Tom
Su’a
Lowe
Murray

Knight
Tatola
Nicholls
Amone/Sironen

Then we most likely have the guys below:

Dillon
Mago?
Koloamatangi (he can play based on what I’ve seen)
Rodwell

And that is at full strength. It shows why we also need to sign David Fifita or another good second rower.

Correct bro but if we can only get 1 of Arrow or Fifita for 2020 I can live with that callmack1 callmack1

I have lowered my expectations within reason I think from top 4 expectations to us sitting between 5th-8th somewhere, as we simply can’t replace all we lost just like that!....

We imo will have to go a little backwards to go forwards.

Jamie Soward says: I'd play Adan Doueihi at fullback with Alex Johnston to miss out. The way Doueihi played in that last game against Canberra, he was their best player and he adds plenty with his ball playing and all-round game with his finesse and toughness.

I'd have Tom Amone straight into the starting team at prop and Knight on the bench. I'd also bring Keaon Kolomatangi in on the bench – he's a hard worker through the middle and can ball play as well, he's that Wayne Bennett type of player.

Wayne certainly has some tough decisions to make.

So I guess you’re also a fan of moving Murray away from lock? Our members fans are split about that.

Gebbie is not there to tackle,he is there to score tries!
In spades!
How many times have you seen him play R21?

I think your club made a very good buy in Marsters.
If he eventually gets a run in the NFL side he should do well.
Sadly another fine player the Dragons have brought up for others to reap the benefit from

If he's that good I hope he's not poached by the NFL !!

Maybe he's as good as the legendary French FB Puig AUBERT who stepped aside a lot of the time, refused to tackle, then blamed his other team members for failing to tackle !!

I’ve seen Gebbie play a number of games for PNG, he’s got such talent but his downfall is under the high ball plus general costly errors and defence.

He should tear it up in reserve grade though.

Yeah---he'd be smoking a cigar at the back & hid it behind the goal-post if action looked like coming his way. Back in the days of the wonderful kicking duels at which Puig was a master;very clever player---Punchy Clifford against the Little Master was always a great duel to witness;Ron WILLEY from Manly was good too;he coached Sths for 3 yrs in the 80s---the ball being kicked back & forth for ages at times until one of the FB's decided to run the ball !!
Geez, today's game has been bastardised beyond recognition !!
Another thing I loved was Churchill running to the sideline & flick-passing to Ian MOIR---then it was shut the gate as Moir streaked away !! I loved Ross Kite,a winger from Saints too;he was bloody elusive !!! Brian ALLSOP from Easts was quick;I remember him running around Clivey[which was no mean feat] in a mid week play-off at Redfern Oval for the semis !! Sths won that game,just--the scores were locked with about 2 mins to go & the ever cunning Churchill put up a bomb which was taken about 10 yards out in front of the posts by the East's hooker----Churchill yelled out "go down" which the young hooker[Ken Ashcroft,I think] did & just laid there---it was then,of course, a voluntary tackle;a penalty was given; & Clivey calmly kicked the winning goal !!

You've got an incredible memory there Doyen. My memory is shot although I still remember my favourites like the Ziggy Nitzcot days at Redfern with the "Ziggy Nitzcot walks on water" chants going around the ground.
