Our 2020 Squad for now has officially been announced!

2020 NRL Rosters - Official Squads announced for all teams: https://www.rabbitohs.com.au/news/2...ters-official-squads-announced-for-all-teams/

Interesting to note that we have currently named 29 players (obviously, that number can change if there's signings) and that Gebbie hasn't been named. I wonder what the story is there.
Can I copy and paste my thoughts from my 2019/20 thread into here bro?

I think I will those few posts I made earlier tonight.

Bro Gebbie is on a development contract.

I believe he can not play first grade until July 1 onwards.

callmack1 if that’s the 5 of Marsters, J. Cook, Hawkins, Kolomatangi and Rodwell upgraded from development contracts I’m concerned. If we can only sign 2 more players it’s not gonna be good enough sadly.

Amone, Dargan, Denniss, Dillon, Sironen and Su’a have been mainly in reserve grade as well.

So not a strong squad looking at what we have as of now.

Forwards is the massive concern:

Amone
T. Burgess
Dillon
Knight
Koloamatangi
Lowe
Murray
Nicholls
Rodwell
B. Sironen
Su’a
Tatola

Jack Johns is on a development contract as well by the way.

Also I believe Jaxson Paulo along with Gebbie is on a development contract.

So it seems Jack Johns makes that 3 out of our 5 on development contracts, anyone know the other two off the top off their heads, or if we make signings will a guy like Rodwell go back to being on a development contract callmack1 callmack1 Rodwell has mainly played in Flegg this season, so I don’t understand how he makes our top 30!

Also where has all our cap space gone is my concern?

Did Murray and Campbell really cost us loads to upgrade?

You’d also think Hawkins would be on a development contract with Dargan ahead of him replacing Tracey.

I thought we would have extended Knight's contract by now. Hopefully we do before the pre-season games.

I'd offer AJ a 2 year extension worth $500,000 per season (starting from the 2021 season).

I would offer Cody a 3 year extension worth $700,000 per year, starting from the 2021 season, since we already have him for 2020.

Correct we must keep Knight.

I do not think AJ deserves 500k, I think he’s just a good winger and a fill in fullback,400k for mine.

Correct re Cody.

We can’t replace what we’ve lost for 2020, FACT!

Sutto 336 games
GI 263 games
Sam 182 games
George 149 games
Turner 91 games

All at NRL level, so that’s 1021 games experience just gone and of that it’s over 750 games of experience in our forward pack.

Absolutely Doyen especially with how injury prone Burns and AJ are and Denniss isn’t of any use he’s just not up to it and Gebbie is on a development contract and can’t be eligible for first grade selection til second half of next season as that’s how development contracts work.

Lots of talk around Doyen we are very close to getting Arrow, issue is it could be for 2021 onwards as the Titans mightn’t let him go.

I think once the Sam cap dispensation gets the nod of approval which I think it should, (Richo thought we had a strong case) then we will see some signings fall into place.

Hopefully in next fortnight we get the Sam stuff approved as we have to get on with things and signings!

Even though we’ve lost all this experience South Sydney will march on even if we do struggle next year which at this stage is likely given how weak our pack and depth looks!........ and no matter what if it’s hard to take callmack1 callmack1 we will still as always be right behind the boys RADICAL RABBIT RADICAL RABBIT

So:

Tom
Knight
Su’a
Lowe
Murray

Tatola
Nicholls
Amone
Sironen

Mago
Dillon
Koloamatangi
Rodwell

Looks very weak, looks like we have Mago which gives us 13 but it doesn’t solve we need another good back rower and another good/reasonable middle forward, get 2 of them and we are looking better.

More than half our forwards are reserve/fringe players or young forwards.

Didn't I read in an article that we have $2 million to spend (if we don't have to include money paid to Sam as a part of the salary cap)??? If so, we should sign Arrow and David Fifita. We are okay in the backs.

Maybe we don’t have quite that much as Murray would be upgraded and we may have had to slightly upgrade Campbell too, also to keep Cody we will have to pay a bit more.

Issue is Rad, it’s hard to see either Arrow or Fifita being released to us for 2020.

What do you make of the state of our pack as of now?

Mind you Turner and George going frees about 750k.
